Wild Horses

Thundering through rivers of shimmering glass
Down golden valleys steeped from ancestors past
These majestic wild beasts belong to history
Roaming the prairies like an unsolved  mystery
Glistening peaks from the snow capped mountains
As they trickle down the ranges like a water fountain
The land is their play ground given to them at birth
Their essence etched together of bountiful worth
Flowing manes in the wind of gold, black and white
Such raw imaginable beauty in galloping flight
Guardians of these desolate prairie lands
Choosing to run rampant, untamed by man
These land angels scatter through time like sparks from a fire
Oppressed by men but their wild hearts aren't for hire
These beautiful creatures belong to no one but time
Presuming other wise is a blight on all mankind
Black beauty, Pegasus, just to name a few
Names that will live on, long after me and you

Mounted and un-mounted. Be the trusty Steeds of a majestic tapestry. Woven into the high plains and vast valleys of legendary prairies throughout history.

When I was very young, I was blessed to be able to go on a Mustang run. My uncle who owned many horses took me out west. To watch herds of wild Mustangs running. such a beautiful majestic site. I have often dreamed of that day since. I always wake with a smile. Thank you for making me remember a day; That the land angels soared across a sea of green pastures.
