I've often wondered in life, the people we meet along our dusty trails
are they mere coincidence or by grand design.
Why is it some people you just walk past them like a stranger in the crowd, where other times you meet randomly you almost feel they've known you your whole life.
Were they reincarnated?
Were they your posse in an alternate world.?
Are they put here by fate or mere luck like a roll of the dice.
The truth of it all is people will come and go out of your life, some great, some not so much.
Life will always take back from us in the end, what it gave us at the start that's just the way it is, that's life
Some effect us right down to the very foundations of our inner core.
Like a jigsaw puzzle that's been mixed with many more, we are searching for all our own pieces that make us a complete picture.
If we are reincarnated does some of our last lifetime memories remain?
At a campfire I sit alone with me hot brew and drink
Watching my surroundings I take my hat off to think
As this breeze caresses my face I wonder to myself
In a strike of a match why was I forced down south
Bridges I've crossed and theres bridges I've burnt
With no malice there's been lessons I've learnt
People I've met who have shown me the way
Helped me more than I could ever repay
Like some people here on this web site we dwell
Friends indeed as we travel on this carousel
Perhaps it's the whiskey speaking out of term
Or life's lessons I'm finding hard to learn
I bid you good night as I spread my bed roll about
Swig my last swallow and put me fire out
Here's to us all on these dusty trails of our universe
Just a mere ramble it's your choice if you want to converse
